If you are in search of privacy and a bit of isolation, then Ekahi village is the place for you. It has the perfect setting for barbeque parties, surrounded with an ocean front pool, ideal for such escapades. If going on long drives is a favorite with you, then you should consider the Hana highway. Its beauty is further intensified due to the presence of the long winding valleys, which lends a nostalgic feeling when one drives along it. The lush green valleys provide an additional touch to its beauty, the mere glimpse of which takes ones breath away.

If one has an inclination for the wildlife, then Haleakala National Park is just the place to see and look out for. This place is famous not only for being a National Park but for also the Haleakala Crater, located amidst the world’s largest dormant volcano. Enriched with beautiful flora, this place has a beauty of its own, which is unmatchable. And if you are a wild surfer, then you should definitely head for the Ho’okipa Beach. Here where one can get the biggest waves for board surfers, during winters, in summers or in the afternoons, one can equally enjoy wind surfing.

Maui islands are easily accessible by three different airports, Kapalua Airport, Kahului Airport and Hana airport. Hana airport, on the north west of the town of Hana supports commuter, unscheduled air taxi and general aviation activities. Alalele Place provides vehicular access to the airport from Hana Highway. Located on the east shore of Maui, this airport is spread over an area of 119 acres.

Kahului Airport, located between Haleakala and the west Maui mountain range on the island of Maui, covers an area of 1391 acres of land. Kahului airport provides carrier facilities for domestic overseas and interisland commercial services. It also offers commuter/air taxi and general aviation operations. Vehicular access to the passenger terminal, commuter/air taxi, cargo, scenic tour operators, general aviation facilities and airport support facilities is also provided. But all this is via a roadway network that connects to the Haleakala and/or Hana Highways.

The Kapalua airport initially started as a private facility until it was taken over by the state. The airport is accessible from a two – lane road off Honopiilani highway. However the airport can be subjected to limited up gradation only.

Therefore Maui tourism and airports are strongly interlinked and the wide success of tourism at Maui depends on its excellent connectivity to airport.
