Hana and Kapulua Airports

Other smaller ones among the Maui Airports are Hana and Kapulua Airport. Hana maintains the relaxed atmosphere of old Maui whereas the Maui airport at Kapulua is the commercial and busy one. Hana is less than 120 acres in size located on the Eastern side of the Island. Kapulua is on the western part.

The airlines which operates out of the Kahului airport includes United Airlines, which fly from Los Angeles and San Fransisco; the Hawaiian Airlines which fly from Los Angeles, Portland and Seattle; American Airline flying out of Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas; Delta Airlines who run from Los Angeles; Aloha Airlines fly out from Orange County and Oakland; American Trans Air flies out of Los Angeles, Phoenix and San Francisco. There are no direct flights from Asia. Japan and All Nippon Airlines land in Oahu. Apart from the main airport there are others like the Hana Airport which is serviced by flight from Honululu and Kahului, Honululu International Airport scheduled by inter-state flights are available from Honululu to Kahului Airport through Aloha airlines ,Hawaiian airlines, Island Air and go!Airlines. The Maui Airport offers different flying option and it’s really hard which one you are going to chose from the multiple choices. The Island Air and go! are low fare airline among them. But Pacific Wings have regular flight scheduled directly to Hana and Kahului.

The Inter-state includes Mokulele Flight service which provides service to and from Hana from Kona, Hawaii, Kahului. Mokulele charter rates start at $1021.50 per hour with a two-hour booking minimum. Charters include Maui Air, Sunshine Helicopter, and Alex Air. The Maui air charters passenger to and from Honolulu Airport and Maui Airport at Kahului. The charters are available throughout the Island from other airports also. The Sunshine Helicopter carries six passengers without luggage as does the Alex Air. The Sunshine Helicopter cost $2,385 per hour whereas Alex Air begins at $1500 per hour for A-Star.The Maui Airports at Hana is open to private planes but there is some information that the pilot has to follow.

There are several Hawaiian Airports like Hilo Hilo International Airport, Kalaupapa Airport, Lanai City, Lihue Airport, Upolu Point Airport from where you can go to Maui Airports, if Maui is your destination. But its better to book a direct flight to Maui because it makes things easier as stop over can be a hassle and there is decreased chance of ones luggage getting lost.
